Number of policemen injured during pension reform protests in France 2023
In 2023, France went through an important movement of protests against the pension reform carried out by Emmanuel Macron's government. During the Spring of 2023, and especially following March 16, 2023, when Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne decided to make use of the 49.3 article of the Constitution, allowing to engage the government's responsibility and adopt the reform without facing the Parliament's vote, demonstrations were affected by violent acts. Indeed, between March 16 and May 3, the authorities registered 947 CRS, 524 policemen, and 48 gendarmes who suffered injuries due to a protest.
