Tier 1 capital ratio of Lloyds Banking Group 2010-2023
The tier 1 capital ratio of the Lloyds Banking Group generally increased between 2010 and 2023. The ratio increased overall until 2018, reaching a value of 18.2 percent before decreasing to 16.7 percent in 2019. The Tier 1 capital ratio rose again in 2020 and 2021, reaching 19.7 percent. In the year 2022, the ratio went down to 17.1 percent; however, it experienced a slight increase in the year 2023, reaching 17.2 percent. Tier 1 common capital ratio is a measurement of a bank's core equity capital compared with its total risk-weighted assets.
