Projected geothermal electricity produced and heat consumed EU-27 2020-2030
Geothermal heat consumption in the European Union remained relatively stable from 2020 to 2022. In that last year, geothermal heat consumption stood at roughly 950,000 tons of oil equivalent. By 2030, this figure is forecast to increase to 1.3 million metric tons of oil equivalent.
