Number of social media followers before and after AFCON 2022, by country
Algeria had the largest soccer social media community on the African continent. After AFCON 2021, the Algerian soccer association was followed by around 4.49 million followers. Egypt, Morocco, and Nigeria followed, with close to 3.6, 2.55, and 2.3 million subscribers, respectively. On the other hand, Equatorial Guinea had the smallest social media community.
