Depression risks among adults in China 2022, by length of mid-day rest
A Chinese survey conducted in 2022 found that short daily siestas may help reduce the risks of developing depression. While 18.5 percent of people with no siesta habit were at increased risk of the disease, the rate was more than halved to around 7.5 percent among those who regularly had short naps of up to an hour in the afternoon. However, siestas longer than 60 minutes were deemed less helpful.
