Average per capita annual spending on private label products in Belgium 2019
In Belgium, the supermarket chain Match registered the highest annual spending on private label products. In 2019, consumers spent 1,849 euros per capita, on average. Conversely, Lidl discounters reported the lowest spending of store brands products at 1,086 euros. Data showed that the location of stores was a key factor driving the consumption of consumer goods. For instance, Colryut stores which were close to a sale point of their main competitor Albert Hejin showed a lower annual spending (1,325 euros) than stores which weren't (1,370 euros).
