Hospitalization rate among patients affected by cancer in Italy 2007-2021
Between 2007 and 2019, the hospitalization rate among people affected by cancer in Italy slightly decreased. In fact, it started in 2007 at around 1.3 thousand patients out of 100,000 inhabitants, while by 2019 roughly 1.1 thousand patients out of 100,000 inhabitants were hospitalized due to a tumor. In 2020, the first COVID-19 pandemic year, the hospitalization rate dropped to 959 per 100 thousand inhabitants to increase again in 2021 at 1,023 per 100 thousand inhabitants. This statistic displays the hospitalization rate among patients affected by cancer in Italy from 2007 to 2021.
