Current account goods and services balance of payments in Japan 2014-2023
In 2023, Japan recorded a deficit on its balance of international payments on the current account for goods and services valued at around 9.42 trillion Japanese yen, increasing from a trade deficit of roughly 21.1 trillion yen in the previous year. Since 2019, imports of goods and services have exceeded exports.
