This statistic shows the results of a survey conducted in the first quarter of 2016 among 3,000 adult Americans on their preferred credit card brand. The results were sorted by income tier. During the survey, 11.9 percent of respondents earning less than 50,000 U.S. dollars per year stated their preferred credit card brand is American Express; 13.9 percent of respondents earning more than 50,000 U.S. dollars per annum said the same.
