Elderly self-reporting depression that are diagnosed in select countries 2013
This statistic describes the percentage of older adults with self-reporting depression that are diagnosed in selected countries as of 2013. Some 82.4 percent of adults over 65 years of age with self-reported depression in the leading five EU-countries were diagnosed. This condition may be unnoticed and undiagnosed in the elderly as sadness may not be one of the main symptoms and due to unwillingness to discuss symptoms with a doctor.
