Global bottled water consumption 2007-2017
Bottled Water in Asia
By 2020, China is projected to consume approximately 20 percent of the global volume of bottled water, up from about 17 percent in 2015. India is also expected to nearly double its consumption of bottled water during that time period. For many South and East Asian countries, the tap water is considered unsafe to consume for those who are not acclimated to it, which could be a contributing factor for the widespread consumption of bottled water in that region.
