Share of renewables in U.S. energy supply by source 2022
In 2022, renewable energy sources accounted for about 20 percent of the total electricity generated in the United States. Of that share, wind power accounted for the largest proportion of U.S. electricity generation, at roughly 10 percent. Geothermal, on the other hand, accounted for just 0.4 percent of the electricity generated in the U.S. that year.
