GHG emissions from wildfires in Costa Rica 2001-2022
Wildfires in Costa Rica released 88.4 thousand metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (ktCO₂e) into the atmosphere in 2022. This was a decrease of 6.8 percent from the previous year. Between 2001 and 2022, the highest GHG emissions attributable to wildfires occurred in 2017, at nearly 636 ktCO₂e.
