Aquaculture production value in Ghana 2021, by selected type

In 2021, the value of tilapia fish produced in Ghana amounted to just over one billion Ghanaian cedis (GHS), roughly 83 million U.S. dollars. This referred to nearly 58 percent of the total value of aquaculture production that year. On the other hand, production of catfish reached nearly 260 million GHS, roughly 21.3 million U.S. dollars, which was around 15 percent of the total value. Overall, the country's aquaculture production reached over 1.7 billion GHS in the said year, equivalent to 140 million U.S. dollars.
