The socio-economic levels are made according to the IBGE demographic census.
The IBGE uses the Minimum Wage Range Criterion. This is a method that classifies classes based on income brackets; more specifically, by minimum wages. The minimum wage in Brazil in 2022 was 1,212 reais.
Class A: Over 20 minimum wages (24,240.01 BRL or more)
Class B: From 10 to 20 minimum wages (12,120.01 to 22,240.00 BRL)
Class C:From 4 to 10 minimum wages (4,848.01 to 12,120.00 BRL)
Class D: From 2 to 4 minimum wages ( 2,424.01 to 4,848.00 BRL)
Class E:Up to 2 minimum wages (Up to 2,424.00 BRL)
