As of 2021, a majority of content creators in India, amounting to 77 percent, relied primarily on brand deals as a source of revenue. On the other hand, about five percent of the creator economy had not yet earned any revenue. Indian creators with a follower base between 10 thousand and one million potentially earned anywhere between 200 and 2,500 thousand U.S. dollars per month that year.
