PFAS research and development expenditure in the U.S. 2022, by area of research
Out of all the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) research and development (R&D) expenditures in 2022, United States federal agencies were estimated to have invested the greatest in PFAS sources and exposure. The Department of Veteran Affairs alone invested an estimated 46.45 million U.S. dollars that year. PFAS toxicity was estimated to have received a similar amount of R&D investment with the National Institutes of Health estimated to have allocated significant resources showing continued investment in PFAS research by multiple government agencies.
