The information about the number of Catholics from 1964 is the result of a rewrite and update by the DBK based on the census from May 27, 1970. From 1987, the update was based on the census from May 25, 1987. The figures from 1990 refer to information from parishes and dioceses. From 2012, figures were based on the 2011 census. Figures for previous years are based on earlier source information.
