Countries with the least reliable supply of electricity in Africa 2019-2021
Only five percent of the people with an electric connection in Malawi in 2019/2021 reported the electricity supply worked most or all the time. The country also had the smallest share of the population connected to the electric grid among the 34 nations surveyed in Africa. Reliability on the grid amounted to 14 percent and 15 percent in Nigeria and Ethiopia, respectively. On average, 43 percent of respondents on the continent had a reliable supply of electricity.
