Difference between votes of Gen. Y and general population in Spain 2011-2019
When compared to the votes of the Spanish population as a whole, Generation Y (those born between early 1980s and the mid 1990s) tends to sympathize with new parties more than with PSOE and PP, the oldest ones. In the national elections of November 2019, which determined the membership of the 14th Cortes Generales, Millenials' vote for the left-wing alliance, Unidas Podemos, was 41.2 percent points higher than UP's results among the total population. Vox, the extreme-right party, was also popular among younger generations, as the difference between Millenials' vote for this party and that of the population as a whole was of 28.3 percent.
