Deaths from non-communicable diseases in Mozambique by gender 2010-2019
In 2019, the number of deaths from non-communicable diseases in Mozambique reached 54,467 among men, compared to 48,073 among women. For both genders, it was the highest level recorded since 2011. Also known as chronic diseases, non-communicable conditions are of four types: cardiovascular, cancers, chronic respiratory, and diabetes. The number of casualties from NCDs in Mozambique increased annually and peaked in 2019. Remarkably, deaths occurred in higher numbers among men throughout the years.
