Gender parity score in Ghana 2019, by dimension
As of 2019, the Gender Parity Score (GPS) revealed a high gap between men and women in Ghana, both in society and at work. The overall GPS in the country stood at 0.59 points, a result that indicated high gender inequality. A GPS score of one indicates total parity between men and women - the closer it is to one, the closer it is to bridging the gender gap. Although both gender inequality at work and in society were considered high in Ghana, the performance on society dimension was better, at 0.63 points. This meant that women had 63 percent of the opportunities that men did. In the dimension of work, the country scored 0.52 points.
