Views on best strategy to address violent conflict in Mozambique 2021
According to the survey, 21 percent of respondents in Mozambique considered seeking external military support the best strategy to address the conflict in Cabo Delgado province. Another 18 percent cited increasing the local military presence as solution. For 21 percent of respondents, the best option would be negotiating with the armed extremists. Mozambique has seen the deterioration of an ongoing conflict in the northern province Cabo Delgado. Non-state armed groups are accused of perpetrating extreme violent attacks, including arbitrary killings and detentions, human trafficking, and kidnapping.
