Share of men buying takeaway or bento in Japan 2019, by age group
In a survey conducted in November 2019 in Japan, 58.2 percent of men aged 40 to 49 stated that they used takeout or bento services at least once a week. According to the survey, men in their forties had the highest usage rate of take-away and bento services. The utilization ratio peaked out for people in their forties and declined afterwards with increasing age.
