E-commerce deliveries growth during COVID-19 in Italy 2020
Online orders and deliveries in Italy increased significantly due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the resulting lockdown. As the graph shows, during January and February, when the lockdown was not put in place yet, the increase in e-commerce deliveries was rather limited. In the following months, however, deliveries grew dramatically. April 2020 registered an increase of 114.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. In May 2020, after the restrictions were eased, the growth was not as impressive as in April, but e-commerce deliveries still rose by 68.5 percent compared to May 2019.
