Size comparison of small-moelcule drugs and biologics 2020
This statistic shows the size and complexity of small-molecule drugs compared to biologics. A generic, small molecule drug such as acetylsalicylic acid is less complex with a mass of 180 daltons. In comparison, monoclonal antibodies (mAB) are more stucturally complex biosimilars with a mass of approximately 150,000 daltons.
