Most used drugs against HIV in Colombia 2020-2021
As of January 31, 2021, approximately 58 percent of patients living with HIV undergoing antiretroviral therapy in Colombia were using Tenofovir against the infection. Meanwhile, over 56 percent of the HIV patients under treatment in the country used Emtricitabine (commonly known as FTC), a drug that inhibits HIV replication. These medicines were the most used drugs against HIV in Colombia, normally utilized for prevention and treatment of HIV infection combined with other antiretroviral drugs.
